PT Minemex Indonesia provides direct barging services for the transportation of bulk mining materials, especially coal, from loading ports to unloading ports and also from loading ports to anchorage points within Indonesia and across countries in the region. PT Minemex Indonesia owns and operates several barges which are rented from third parties to meet its clients’ needs.
The barges in use range in size from 250 feet to 365 feet.
Stockpile
Utilization of natural resources, especially coal mining at this time is developing rapidly
progress along with big market demands. So that, there are many mining companies
located and open new sites of coal mining gradually, in order to fulfill the market needs,
both International and domestic markets. For increasing coal production, optimization
reducing production costs is needed to obtain the optimal profits.
Coal production is 101.243,72 ton/month.
Transformation of coal quality that occured from the pit mining to stockpile ash is
increasing to 4.3%. The increasing percentage of ash because of contamination at the
mind, which is commonly borne contamination when exposed coal among others
overburden which came from clay, soil and other tailing materials. Heavy machineries
and plant equipment that used in stockpile area are routinely maintenance in order to
avoid the ash rises. Utilization of spray water can be done to anticipate the ash. Fog
spray ( as the one type of pray water ) is recommended to tide the dust optimally.
Mother Vessel
Our operation teams in Sumatra area have been business for many years of transporting coal from mining sites to stockpile/mother vessel. This activity known as transshipment. For this service, our rent fleet consists of over more then 50 units of tug boats, flat top barges and self-discharging barge with length varied from 250 to 300 feet.
